Bank statements get onto a deal three ways: you upload them, the merchant uploads them in the portal, or they come in with the application. Once they’re on the deal, the analysis turns them into the numbers on the Underwrite tab. Anyone who can edit deals can upload.

Upload them yourself

1

Open the Documents tab

On the deal, open Documents and click Upload files.
2

Choose Bank statement

In the Upload files window, leave the type set to Bank statement (it’s the default). The other types are Driver’s license, Voided check, Contract, ACH authorization and Other.
3

Add the files

Drag the PDFs onto the drop area, or click it to choose them. You can add several at once. Bank statements must be PDFs.
Each PDF is stored twice: the original, and a Watermarked copy with your branding. The Documents tab shows them as one row with an Original / Watermarked switch. Only the original is analyzed. You can also add statements when you create the deal, in the application’s Bank Statements section. See Creating a deal.

Have the merchant upload them

Send a document request that includes Bank Statements. In the portal the merchant uploads each statement, then clicks That’s all of them. The portal takes PDFs and photos up to 25 MB each. See Requesting documents. What the merchant uploads lands on the deal’s Documents tab under Bank statements, and you get a notification.

Get them analyzed

Whether statements are analyzed as soon as they arrive depends on how NextLevel MCA has set up your account:
  • Automatic analysis on: statements you upload from the Documents tab or with the application are sent for analysis about 20 seconds after the last one lands, so a batch goes together.
  • Automatic analysis off, and for statements the merchant uploads in the portal: open the Underwrite tab and click Analyze statements, or Analyze new (N) when some statements were analyzed before.
The analysis takes a few minutes. The Underwrite tab shows Analyzing statements and updates on its own. See Reading the analysis.
If there’s no Analyze button and the Underwrite tab says Bank statement analysis isn’t set up for your account yet., analysis hasn’t been set up for your account. You can still upload statements and send them to lenders. See Bank statement analysis.

Check you have enough months

The Documents tab toolbar has a coverage chip, for example Statements · 2 months missing or Statements complete · 2 accounts. Click it to see each bank account with a chip per month: ticked for months you have, amber for months still missing. Request asks the merchant for what’s missing. Coverage counts analyzed statements only. Until statements are analyzed, the chip says how many are waiting, for example 3 statements to analyze. How many months you need is set by an admin under Settings → General → Preferences:
  • Bank statements required: full calendar months needed per bank account (3 by default). The current month never counts as a full month.
  • Month-to-date statement from day: from this day of the month, a month-to-date statement for the current month is also required (the 15th by default).

Common problems

The same file is already on this deal. See Why a duplicate statement is refused.
If one file in a batch fails, the files after it aren’t uploaded. The ones before it are on the deal. Check the Documents tab and upload the rest again.
Only files filed as bank statements are analyzed and counted for coverage. Download the file and upload it again with the type Bank statement, then delete the copy under Other.
Delete the old one from the Documents tab (… → Delete; its watermarked copy goes with it), then upload the new one and run Analyze new.
