# Signatures on applications

  Merchants can now sign the application on the online form. Each signature carries e-sign proof (the time and the IP address), and that proof is printed on the application PDF that goes to lenders.

  * **Request a signature** from a deal's **Request documents** dialog: tick **Signature** and pick the owner. They sign in the merchant portal.
  * **Applications you enter for a merchant** ask for their signature automatically when it's missing.
  * **Auto-sign** (off by default, admins only, **Settings → Application Form → Form behavior**): unsigned applications show the owner's typed name. Use it only with the owner's permission. With it off, unsigned applications say "Not signed".
